I wanted to create a class that would help you get motivated and fit creativity into your daily life while inspiring you to paint in a style that is YOU. So in this online course, I’m sharing my paintings and inspirations from three locations: New York City, Seaside Beach Florida and Austin Texas.
That means I’ll share all sorts of techniques and art supplies I use to create different backgrounds, art journal pages, and lots of characters (whimsical animals, girls, imaginary creatures and more). I’ll also take you with me on-location in videos and photos, so you can find your own inspirations to strengthen and evolve your unique style and take my techniques and create whatever you desire. We’ll play with watercolors, portraits, paintings on book pages, finger-painting, art journaling, adding words, backgrounds and layering and have fun with effortless paintings ON LOCATION!
I wanted to create a class that would help you overcome creative blocks and strengthen your own unique style. So in this online course, I share all I learn and paint the entire year.
That means we’ll be painting whimsical animals, girls, imaginary creatures, owls and so much more. And with each lesson, I’ll also show you what inspired the painting and how I add those inspirations into each new piece to strengthen and evolve my own style. We’ll also play with painting backgrounds and layering, experiment with lots of different art supplies, and have fun bringing our paintings to life for a YEAR!
Owls are so close to my heart, and I wanted to create a course that would help you get out of your comfort zone and add color and whimsy to your life. My hope for you is that these owls give you a place to begin, so you can let go, have fun and paint in a style that is unique to YOU.
With How To Paint An Owl 2, you’ll learn all I know about painting faces and eyes, which brings personality and style into your owls and characters. We’ll also play with painting backgrounds and layering, experiment with lots of different art supplies, loosen up with drawing and coloring in our sketchbooks and have fun bringing your owls to life.
Whether you adore owls like I do or if you’re just looking to get creative and paint something new, this class is open to all skill levels and experiences. It’s my passion to help you have fun getting creative and to add whimsy, color and more beauty into your everyday life.
I used to get stuck whenever I got to a blank canvas. Fear crept in and I either didn’t know where to start or froze whenever I got too attached to creating something pretty and stopped having fun. Then I realized the characters I paint and the layers I create follow a pattern.
In this course, I share this pattern with you step by step, starting with the drawing template I use to create my own owl characters, breaking them down into simple lines and shapes, so you can easily create your own! We’ll go through my painting process layer by layer with posts of videos, stories and photos on painting technique, staying inspired, and life as an artist.
I wanted to create a course that would help you build a library of characters and creatures that you could quickly create and then easily add to in a style that is unique to YOU.
Having fun, learning to let go and not being afraid to cover up my paintings have become essential to my creative process. I’ve fallen in love with mixed media painting and out of all of the painting techniques I’ve ever tried, the one thing I always return to is remembering to have fun with whatever it is I’m creating. This brings joy into the process, which inevitably gets infused into your artwork and always makes anyone who sees it smile.
Learn to paint three of my favorite girls: the Uniform Girl, the Paper Doll Girl and the Organic Girl. Each week you’ll learn new techniques to make your girls your own. I created this class to share more of my mixed media techniques and to help others let go and uncover their own unique style.
I wanted to create a course that would help you play and let go in your artwork. To get my creativity going, I loosen up with backgrounds and layers on paper. It helps me get out of my comfort zone and experiment with fun colors and new supplies. This brings joy into the creative process, which inevitably gets infused into your artwork and always makes anyone who sees it smile.
I’ll share 12 Lessons featuring my mixed media techniques for creating playful backgrounds and achieving luscious layers. We’ll experiment with lots of different art supplies, get new ideas with india ink sketches and have fun bringing all of the layers together.
