I used to get stuck whenever I got to a blank canvas. Fear crept in and I either didn’t know where to start or froze whenever I got too attached to creating something pretty and stopped having fun. Then I realized the characters I paint and the layers I create follow a pattern.
In this course, I share this pattern with you step by step, starting with the drawing template I use to create my own owl characters, breaking them down into simple lines and shapes, so you can easily create your own! We’ll go through my painting process layer by layer with posts of videos, stories and photos on painting technique, staying inspired, and life as an artist.
I wanted to create a course that would help you build a library of characters and creatures that you could quickly create and then easily add to in a style that is unique to YOU.
Having fun, learning to let go and not being afraid to cover up my paintings have become essential to my creative process. I’ve fallen in love with mixed media painting and out of all of the painting techniques I’ve ever tried, the one thing I always return to is remembering to have fun with whatever it is I’m creating. This brings joy into the process, which inevitably gets infused into your artwork and always makes anyone who sees it smile.
Learn to paint three of my favorite girls: the Uniform Girl, the Paper Doll Girl and the Organic Girl. Each week you’ll learn new techniques to make your girls your own. I created this class to share more of my mixed media techniques and to help others let go and uncover their own unique style.
