Can I commission a custom painting?

Yes! I am excited to open my calendar for custom work and now accept a very limited number of commissions. The current wait is 4 months, there are 8 people on my 2024 schedule. See the price chart and details below.

I especially love creating art that evokes beauty and is a mirror for people to see themselves as their best self—in their most ideal way and inspires calm, connections, and magic.

A 30 x 20-inch minimum size or $2900 purchase minimum is needed to be added to the waitlist.

How do I commission a custom painting?

There is a 50% refundable deposit needed to be added to the waitlist. The deposit is refundable at any point of the commission process, and can either be canceled by the artist or the client. The remaining half is to be paid upon completion and approval of the painting. Since I began custom work in 2009, this method has ensured that my clients are under no obligation, and I can paint freely, embracing suggestions without compromising the spontaneity inherent to the creative process. Painting is deeply individualized and subject to personal interpretation for both the client(s) and the artist. In the uncommon scenario where a commissioned final piece remains unclaimed by the patron, the painting will be made available to the public.

Generally, clients will suggest a subject from my portfolio, and/or color preference. For example, a client might say they want a 30″ x 40″ painting depicting a woman in peace inspired by their favorite painting from my portfolio. Or perhaps the client has a spirit animal like an owl, significant to them which they would like to see me interpret into a work of art. Clients may also send photos of themselves or pictures they have taken, which I can use as inspiration for a new painting.
