In Happy Painting, I share a variety of techniques and characters to help you overcome creative blocks and easily develop your own style.
We’ll paint whimsical animals, girls, imaginary creatures, art journal pages, backgrounds and more! We’ll also learn to let go, paint with our fingertips and play with color and layers.
I’ve fallen in love with mixed media painting and out of all of the painting techniques I’ve ever tried, the one thing I always return to is remembering to have fun whenever I create. This brings joy and happiness into the process, which inevitably gets infused into your artwork and always makes anyone who sees it smile.
This workshop is intended for anyone and everyone. It’s all about giving you many places to begin so you can keep developing your own style… in a mini course!

HOW MY ONLINE COURSES WORK
I design my courses with busy people in mind, so it’s easy for you to focus on what you’d really like to learn when you have the time.
The lessons are designed to make creating fun, easy and completely un-intimidating. I’m a big believer in taking the parts you love most and running with them so you enjoy getting creative. And, if you don’t have the time, there’s no need to go through everything all at once.
Feel free to share your artwork whenever you like. There’s a private facebook group for students to connect, share, support and learn from each other. All in an encouraging and friendly environment that you can enjoy right from home.
You don’t need any painting experience or expensive art supplies to take these classes-all you really need are a few paints and brushes (your hands work just fine) and an openness to play.
Sorry, no refunds once you have paid for this course.
When is this course?
this is a self paced course, so you can register at any time and have instant access to the classroom.
How long do I have access to the course?
You have access to the classroom for 1 year from the day you register and forever access to the Class Facebook Group for ongoing support and community (for as long as the group in running).
I’ve never taken an online course. How does it work?
Happy Painting is an online painting class. Once you register, you will receive the login and password needed to access the class’s private website. The class website consists of a private blog (where lessons are posted in the form of text, videos and photos) and an optional facebook group.
How do I sign up?

What If I’ve taken one of your other online courses…will I still learn something new?
absolutely! all of the mixed media techniques, backgrounds and paintings are new and I am always pushing and evolving my own style and sharing what I learn with you.
Do I have to complete every assignment?
no. but i know you’ll learn even more and have a ton of fun if you do. and, please, don’t feel rushed! you’ll have plenty of time.
Do I need to buy all of the supplies?
not at all. i only have a few supplies and brands that i recommend in particular because i’ve found they work best together. and you’ll only need a scanner or camera if you want to participate in our online gallery.
Can I share the workshop site, info and videos with a friend?
please keep in mind, i have really put all my heart into this workshop (and all of my paintings) and i’d really appreciate it if you didn’t share the links with anyone who has not paid for the workshop.
Do I need to know how to paint, draw, or be artistic?
this workshop is for anyone and everyone. whether you haven’t painted since you were in kindergarten or if you’re an avid crafter or artist looking to learn new techniques, this class is for you. my intention is to get a fabulous group together and share with you a place to begin so you’re creativity can wander in an encouraging environment.
Do I have to post my work to the private facebook group?
of course not. but i really love looking at everyone’s work and seeing just what makes each piece different. i know others do too. this is a totally private, safe, positive and encouraging group. and i wouldn’t have it any other way!
Can I get additional critique from you?

Your owl painting class has truly been an inspiration for me and my artwork. I especially liked your thoughts about loosening up and letting your creativity flow. It truly helped my creative blocks at times. – Shaun Wingerter
Sitting down in front of my computer in the morning and logging into this class was the highlight of my day. You are an exceptional teacher and I have learned so much. Thank you for the countless hours it took you to prepare this class. You are my inspiration. I liked watching the videos over and over again and when I went to create my owl, I was pleased with what I had done…..this would not be possible without such an excellent teacher. – Jacqueline Bartels
I’ve been painting like a crazed person, one owl after another and each one different. What a great time I am having! Thank you for all your lessons and helpful hints. Watching you paint is amazing! Thank you for the “ugly” stage, I have often given up at this stage, but not anymore. I just keep on going. – Patricia Armbrust
