It Is Going To Be Okay. 9×12″ on Paper. More Originals Available Here.
This painting started with one of my floral patterned backgrounds.
For this piece, I really played with inks and acrylics. I was having so much fun repeating my colors and patterns, that the initial flowers turned into rainbow circles.
Those circles inspired this girl’s hair and helped her evolve from start to finish…
I didn’t want to lose the vibrancy of my background colors, so I kept with the crazy color and gave her purple hair.
At that point she really evolved from one of my flower girls into her own character.
It seemed as soon as her hair came into place, I knew she had to be a character in the novel I have been writing. I could hear her story. That is how she also got her name, “It Is Going To Be Okay,” is a line she says in my book.
I just love how the creative process flows and leads you in new and unexpected directions.
