Whenever I try and paint something new it pushes me in new directions.

Documenting my painting process in photos from start to finish has helped me be kinder to myself and understand my creative process. I so often assume that I can just sit down and paint what’s in my head or that I can paint the same way I did when I last left my studio.

Looking back at the photos and videos of my paintings in progress helps me remember that it usually takes lots of beautiful mistakes, tons of layers and experimenting before I even begin to feel on the right track with a painting.
