I can hardly believe it’s almost July! I’ve been taking lots of time to relax and read in the hammock.
Yesterday, a fox ran right past me! The other day, I stepped out of my studio, and two baby deer ran down the path. It always feels like a special kind of magic when the animals come out of the woods.
Needless to say, it’s all been inspiring my creativity.
It’s really important to me to share with you not just my finished artwork, but everything I’m creating and painting throughout the week (there’s a video sneak peek below).
I can’t even remember which of these works in progress ended up as which finished painting. What matters is that it takes lots (and lots) of working, experimenting, and playing to get to even one finished piece.
Throughout each week, I’m starting new backgrounds and working on so many different paintings, and they often look nothing like how they started. I often paint over them again and again. I’m always moving from one piece to the next, in my sketchbook, with small studies, and onto large works.
Every mark, every color, every brushstroke leads me to the next. It’s all part of my process.
There are so many ugly stages you never see. Not to mention all of the creative living and daily inspiration that goes on in between.
This is just a tiny glimpse… I hope watching this video sneak peek helps you find freedom on your creative journey!
