I had so much fun in this painting, creating tons and tons of luscious layers.
I was inspired by some painted pages I found in my studio. I’d taken watercolors, india inks and acrylic inks in blue and purple hues and dripped them in pages of my sketchbook, letting the colors spontaneously blend and merge.
I tore off my favorite parts of the painted pages and adhered them to a blank canvas.
From there, I added layers of oil sticks, water soluble oil pastels, black india ink, tissue papers, acrylics charcoal and pencil until I found my character.
