with my newest workshop HOW TO PAINT AN OWL 2 coming up, my mind is all about owls.
i always seem to find owls, wherever i go. and this painting was one that came about after i caught sight of an owl outside my balcony at the beach.
brian had just arrived, and we stood, listening to the waves and watching the stars when suddenly between the street lights i saw these enormous wings.
sure enough. it was an owl. and it flew right past our balcony and landed on the lampost below.

and from that owl, this painting got its title and story…
this owl takes time to breathe, knowing the future in all of its goodness is always UNFOLDING.

thanks, melanie. the red in the wing is from the bleeding art tissue paper i applied in the first background layer. sometimes it just fits so perfectly 🙂
