Whenever I start a painting, I grab my favorite art supplies and play until I cover up the white space.
Then I add my character.
Lately I always seem to cut out my character from the background using oil paintsticks or acrylic inks. But first, I add lots and lots of layers.
I’ve found I return again and again to using oil paintsticks, heavy body and fluid acrylics, chalk pastels, water-soluble pencils, water-based paint pens, spray paint, liquid watercolors and acrylic inks.
Whenever I play with my favorite art supplies, it helps me feel calm and connected. Then I can be brave and paint my characters without the pressure of everything having to be perfect. That’s when the magic happens.
Painting and storytelling have always been my passion and I’m so very honored to be able to share my art with you and hope it brings you joy. Sending you so much love and gratitude.
