I LOVE trying out new art supplies, but I’m not one to spend a lot of money on them.
My art supplies are not precious. There’s paint on and in everything.
And, if they’re brushes, I forget to wash them.
I’m also pretty picky about my colors. So I rarely buy a whole set of something.
I know I love blues, so when I try out a new supply, I usually purchase just one in either a brilliant or sky blue.
If I really like the look of it and think I can use it in my regular mix of favorite supplies, then I’ll purchase more. Too many times have I picked the wrong color. Or bought an entire set I never use.
You’ll see how I use some of my favorite supplies in the Whimsical Animals class video below.
In this video from Whimsical Animals class, you’ll see some of the playful techniques I use to add color, softness and shading to my face (it’s all about play, which helps me keep my characters loose). In class, we’ll layer all sorts of art supplies – oil paintsticks, watercolors, pastels, inks, acrylics, water-soluble pencil, papers and paint pens.
You’ll learn how to paint any whimsical animal more freely, so you can easily develop your own style (and have more fun).
