I’d love to win a place since I’m really new to art journalling and have heard so much about Lifebook, that I know it would be really helpful to me in my journey to gain self-esteem and be able to feel worthy again. After my 23 year marriage broke down just over 2 years ago, I hardly managed to drag myself out of bed until I re-discovered art. I’m lacking in many techniques, and would love to be able to join all the wonderful teachers next year. I can’t work because I’m looking after my mother who is old and sick. Art also helps me relax at the end of the day when I have put mum to bed, but since I’m the sort of person who needs prompting and a schedule, LB would be invaluable to me.

Thank you for the opportunity to win a spot in LifeBook 2015. I have never taken a LifeBook course, and I’m excited to be a part of the one starting in January. I really believe participating in LifeBook will change my life. I was born and educated to be left-brain and that was reinforced by my time in the military. I have tried artistic pursuits, and I’ve enjoyed them, but I always felt like a failure. The last 3 years have been a roller coaster for me with a cancer diagnosis and treatment, surgeries and the flare up of a chronic medical condition. I retired a few months ago to try to get healthy again, but I’d expected to work a few more years. With a child in college and a reduced income, winning a spot would be so helpful; most of all, I need to just DO this with the support of others in an environment where there is no failure.

I would be so excited to participate as one of the giveaway spots for Life Book 2015. I have a girl friend who partipcated in one of the previous years and her artwork from it is awe- inspiring. She also talked about how it fueled her soul creativily and helped her feel centred in her life. This year has brought many changes and challenges. I have tried to work through it by investing in myself with as many tutorials and classes as I can. However, being on a budget and having a growing family ( 2 1/2 years and 7 months) sometimes it is not feasible to enrol in the classes that might give you the biggest challenges, best rewards, and contemplative soul searching. I hope to be chosen as a candidate for one of the sponsored spots as it would greatly impact my day to day life and growth in a positive way. Oh…. how I would love to win a spot on the Life Book. I have been disabled for 14 years and just recently ventured out into my Art world again. I would love to win this as disability has taken away my ability to work.
