I’ve learned that if I’m striving to be perfect in my art, I just end up frustrated and make a muddy mess.
So instead, I take a step away whenever I stop having fun.
Then I start a new painting and play… that’s when owls and backgrounds are the perfect thing to paint.
It’s so often the things I don’t plan in my paintings that reveal the most beauty and make me feel joy.
If you’re looking to loosen up and paint with more freedom, try taking photos of your paintings in-progress. This helps me realize every painting has an ugly stage and any negative self talk completely takes the fun out of creating.
Once I realized this happened to me every time, I learned to ignore my inner critic and just let go.
It’s taken a lot of paintings and mistakes to develop my style and be loose in my art. But learning to paint whimsically and find your artistic voice are completely do-able — you’ll learn how in my Serendipity courses.
Thank you to everyone who has already registered… I can’t wait to see the gorgeous artwork you create!
There’s also Lifetime Access to the classrooms and community and a 6 Month Payment Plan option.
