Sometimes it just takes a new supply to inspire a painting and push my creativity in different directions.

I had stopped by a friend’s house for tea, and I could not help but ask to take home one of her bird printed napkins.

I am always on the look out for new papers with prints, whether it is a printed paper napkin, gift wrap or tissue paper.

And this little bird fit so perfectly on this bear’s belly.

The bird really inspired the entire piece as it reminded me of nature and freedom.

Those things always make me think of rainbows, so I knew this bear needed a rainbow to balance out all of the dark surrounding him in the background.

And that is how this bear got his title and story…

This painting is a reminder to take whatever it is you have and hold inside you and share it with the world, knowing it is of greatest importance to always BRING OUT THE LIGHT.
