…………….
This owl was one that reminded me to go with the flow and allow things to easily fall into place.
Sometimes I have to paint over and over a painting until it feels right. I usually don’t stop creating until my character’s eyes resonate with what I’m feeling in my heart.
But with these new DREAM OWLS I’ve been painting in my new online workshop HOW TO PAINT AN OWL 2, it’s more about having fun and letting the color and background shine.
For this piece, I knew it was all about staying soft like the watercolors in the background. And from there, this owl got her title and story…
This owl’s beliefs run deep. Trusting all has its place and purpose, WITH FAITH SHE SENDS HER HEART.

Lovely Juliette! I really like the dimensional canvas, what did you use, I don't think I've seen anything like that before. Can't wait to start painting canvases and a dream owl of my own. One more thing, “I wear a fanny pack I make it look good” — love the lyrics in the music in the class videos – I get a big smile on my face!!

A few years ago, I wrote a novel about a magical world. I was one of 14 writers accepted into a 6 week writing workshop on the east coast. And when I finished my novel, I flew out to Washington DC to meet with my ideal literary agent. But then I got super scared and burned out. Because of that burn-out, I needed to heal... I used to be afraid to raise my hand in class. I’d learned that my ways of thinking and seeing were different from everyone else. When I shared an idea, I was often laughed at or told it was impossible. So I learned to stay quiet and be shy. When I was in the third grade we had an art project where we were supposed... Lately I’ve been going back to painting owls. For awhile I had been creating these very renaissance-style portraits with soft, realistic faces and incredible hair. I enjoyed that I could make them look very human, but still full of magic and color. While I still adore creating these flower girls, I found that these paintings were missing something. After countless attempts in the studio, many... Continue reading
Everyone always asks how I developed my artistic style. I have to say, style was nothing I intentionally developed. It was just the thing that happened when I painted every day. Most often I can look at a finished painting and see that it perfectly reflects who I am in that moment… all of the quirkiness and emotion I sometimes wish I could hide. But... Continue reading
Prints, Books and Originals Available in my shop. …… I’m most inspired by nature and the feelings, emotions and stories I see around me, every day. That’s why it’s so important for me to make sure I take time, each day, to find that inspiration. In the summertime it seems easier to be inspired. My inspirations can come from something as small as a walk... Continue reading

She's gorgeous. I love what you say about painting until it shows how your heart is feeling. She looks so tender and happy too.xx
