this is a painting that fell right into place, yet i didn’t want it to be done.
sometimes when i paint it takes layers and layers to get to that point where my characters resonate with what i’m feeling. i look into their eyes and it’s important to see that they are reflecting whatever is in my heart.
but with this piece it was almost like the story was revealed to me. like my subconscious stepped in and said, “here’s something you should know.”
i so wanted to add something. i thought there was just to much white space and not enough layers. and i wondered what the big flower was all about. but something in me held back. i adored that big flower and the compassion and comfort i felt when looking at its face.
this is a new thing…since normally i just rush in and cover up a painting. now i’ve been trying not to cover up paintings just because i feel the urge. because to me it seems like that’s hiding something i’m meant to see about myself or the way i’m perceiving my world.
i adored these two characters, but sometimes when it feels too easy, it seems like more work must be done. i’m excited to see what other stories reveal themselves for me to work with.

Whenever fear or doubt creep in, remember there is no need to worry, for where ever one goes, the other will be, forever, TOGETHER.
