As promised, here’s another spring-inspired painting for you! METAMORPHOSIS. May you have good luck and good fortune in all you do!
Details and close-ups, along with archival prints, now available in my ART SHOP. Enjoy!
I had been wanting to do a piece with monarch butterflies and when I got the new Anthropologie catalog, there they were! I carefully cut each one to create her dress, then added copper glitter to her wings to make her look as if she is actually taking flight. The painting is created from an alchemy of materials found in my studio…acrylics, colored pencils, pastels, modern and vintage origami papers, artist pens, and ink. I applied decoupage in layers and then added illustrations to each one for a 3-D effect that looks absolutely magical up-close.

I am amazed how you can put simple things together and make something like this, it's just crazy! Love it!
