it was amazing to meet so many talented artists and designers at the creative connection event last week! i have to say i was more than a little nervous before my pitch slam. the entire drive up to st paul, i tried my hardest to just listen to andrew bird on the radio…but all i could do was repeat my three minute pitch!
afterwards, i received some fabulous advice from the experts. here are two of my designs that were particular favorites. i’m thinking they definitely need to be seen on greeting cards and maybe a line of decorative pillows! (i’m looking into ways of making that happen and will be sure to let you in on all the details)…
i also had the most wonderful time talking with suzy ultman who convinced me to attend surtex in nyc next year! i just adore suzy’s art and designs! and i was crazy about the sticker book, buttons and other gift items she left me with! totally inspiring!
two local artists (jennifer davis and amy rice) set up a pop up gallery down the street too! it was so fun to see! loads of mixed media originals…just amazing to look at and see all of the tiny details up close!
i managed to squeeze in a bit of wandering the streets of st paul too! and caught some music at the new local pub, the amsterdam.

and i met up again with the lovely beth from do what you love (who i was lucky enough to see last may in england)! and i finally got to meet petra kern and liv lane in person! after we’ve been been blog friends for at least a year, it’s so nice to chat and actually sit and enjoy coffee together!
