i’ve been trying out tons of new art supplies for my online course HOW TO CREATE WHIMSICAL ANIMALS. i just love experimenting and layering with them all in my sketchbook.
here are a few of my most recent favorites…

powdered color pigments (by jaccard),

flower-inspired stamps,

water soluble wax crayons (by reeves),

giant, wide brushes (great for covering up big spaces of background),

bamboo calligraphy brushes (i just love the wispy lines they create),

and water soluble oil paints (by reeves).
What are some of your favorite art supplies?

I’m loving the water mixable oils too. Haven’t tried clear gesso…how are you using it? It’s so fun to play with new art supplies 🙂

Thanks for your post I'm curious about using the powdered pigments I have never before seen them but the colors are absolutely beautiful! I personally am a watercolors kind of gal and I stick to DaVinci only because of the vibrant colors but this is just because I'm nervous to try anything new. I'm making a note of each of these thank you

thanks, sarah. it's so nice to hear what supplies you love working with too. i'll have to do a video using some of those pigments so you can see them in action 🙂
best wishes!
