Hi Friends,
I’m so excited for my Painting Retreat in Wisconsin at the beautiful Octagon Barn next weekend!
There are just a few spots left ❤️ July 19 & 20.
I’ve been reviewing my past paintings to choose which techniques to demonstrate, and thought you might like a peek!
All of these paintings were created using high-flow acrylics, inks, water-soluble pencils, and paint pens. A few also include collage papers, which I’m especially excited to demo—they were such a hit at my France retreat. I love layering these supplies into my paintings
I’ll cover these styles, techniques, and supplies in detail during the retreat.
Creating in my sketchbook is also a huge part of my process, helping me play, stay loose, and get inspired. We’ll spend time with our sketchbooks and incorporate those inspirations into our paintings.
To help you get started, you’ll also receive instant-access to my Watercolor Joy Mini Course.
Whether you’re new to painting or an experienced artist, we’ll have so much fun developing friendships and creating art together in this gorgeous landscape. I will nurture your creativity and we will all create paintings full of color and joy.
Having fun with my artwork helps me let go, follow my heart, and paint without the pressure of perfection. I want you to feel all of that magic too!
On Saturday, July 19: We’ll focus on color and techniques for loosening up, particularly in painting women and animals. I’ll guide you through my painting process from start to finish: beginning with covering the white space, layering color, and fingerpainting. Then we’ll add faces and figures, integrating everything together. My goal is for you to paint all day long.
On Sunday, July 20: We’ll repeat the process and take everything deeper. I’ll show you how I overcome my inner critic and paint with freedom. We’ll focus on having fun and letting our surroundings inspire us in new directions.
Right now, I’m in my outdoor studio, surrounded by the pines and blooming hot pink cosmos. I just started a new painting and I’m thinking of adding a splash of acrylic in the same hue as the sky.
I’m so inspired by all of the beauty around my studio! Come spend the weekend painting with me.
I hope to see you in Wisconsin next weekend for a magical experience ❤️ Thank you to everyone that has signed up so far, I can’t wait to paint together!! Reach out to me with any questions 😊
Happy painting!
