I’ve been having fun experimenting with lots of my favorite art supplies.
While I always have my favorite colors for faces (florescent pink, quinacridone nickel azo gold, titanium white and cobalt teal), I love uncovering new ways to layer everything and then mix it up with a new supply or color.
Lately, I’ve been celebrating summertime and painting with more pinks and peaches. I picked up a peach Shiva brand oil paintstick and just love how it contrasts with my favorite blues (cobalt blue and cobalt teal).
I’m also developing my next online course… IMPERFECTLY, PERFECT PAINTING – A Mini Course!
This course has been on my mind for some time. I wanted to create a new class that would help you develop your own unique style in a mini course.
In this online workshop, I’ll share five mixed media projects that will cover a variety of mixed media techniques and characters, so you can learn how to let go and be light, gentle and free.
That means we’ll be painting whimsical animals, girls with big eyes, feather-haired characters, happy flowers and imaginary creatures. And with each demo, I’ll stick to just a few of my favorite basic and inexpensive supplies, so the class doesn’t need to be a huge investment.
We’ll also play with painting backgrounds and layering, experiment with using the same supplies in new ways, and have fun bringing our paintings to life. It’s all about giving you many places to begin, so you can easily develop your own style.
Registration opens August 12th. Class begins in September and there will be plenty of time to explore, connect and paint.
I’ll have more details for you closer to the date.
And, if you know someone who would love to play with art supplies and might be interested in trying out IMPERFECTLY PERFECT PAINTING – the mini course, feel free to share this post (there are links beside the Join The Conversation section above the comments).
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Happy painting!
