Owls have always been my favorite thing to paint.
I wasn’t planning to paint any owls for my new collection, but, as it happens, my creativity has its own ideas. I hear and see owls everywhere I go. So, of course, while I’ve been on my artist’s residency these last few weeks, I’ve heard two great horned owls.
When I first started painting owls in 2009, I had no clue what to paint. But when I stood back to look at my first layers, I distinctly saw the outline of an owl and they’ve been one of my favorite things to paint ever since. They’re such an inspiration and a sign to me that I’m not just following the right path, but that peace, wisdom, and magic are ahead. I hope these owls inspire you today too!
