I’ve been blissfully busy in the studio this week, and I’m excited to share a new owl painting with you.
While painting Sparkle, I found myself thinking about the little things that bring me joy—the shimmer of sunlight across the ocean, raindrops resting on flower petals after a summer rain, the feeling that something magical is just around the corner.
Tiny pieces of gold leaf drift across the owl’s crown, while fragments of tissue paper collected on my very first trip to the beach are layered within the paint. They peek through here and there, becoming part of the painting’s story.
Owls continue to be one of my favorite subjects to paint. There’s something about their wise presence, dynamic wings, and solid guidance that keeps calling me in my work. I can’t wait to share more with you in the coming weeks.
These are some of my favorites along with a a few other originals available.
Every painting I create begins with many colorful layers. This process is fun and exhilarating, where I set my intentions and play.
I’m always working on many paintings at once, all at different stages, so when I’m stuck on a painting, I’ll often go back to my colorful layers to loosen up and paint more freely again. It all helps me stay in the flow!
If you’re inspired to create, I’m offering 50% off Painting Classes, and payment plans are available.
My Whimsical Animals course is a wonderful place to begin. It’s available with lifetime access, along with my other painting classes, or through my monthly membership if you’d like to experiment with many different techniques and styles.
However you choose to create, I hope you make a little time this week to notice the small moments of magic waiting around you. Sometimes they’re the very things that lead us back to ourselves.
