what lies ahead

WHAT LIES AHEAD. Prints available in my etsy shop.
i’ve been creating all sorts of videos for my HOW TO PAINT AN OWL E-Course… and this little owl is one that I’ve finished and recorded from start to finish! it’s been amazing to watch my painting process from a new point of view and to see just how much each piece evolves!

i had so much fun painting in the background and used lots of stencils i’ve cut by hand. originally, there was a little birdie that would’ve been over his shoulder…right where he ended up looking in the end.

once the owl came to life, i couldn’t figure out just what he was looking at and painted that tree over, i think, five times. i’m really excited that he’s definitely looking at something and couldn’t decide if it’s something he’s walking away from or considering walking towards.

but i know that this piece expresses a feeling of moving towards hopes and dreams, knowing that everything I’ve experienced in the past always helps move me towards and prepares me for
WHAT LIES AHEAD.
