“What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the print I have read in my life.” -Walt Whitman
It has been such a gorgeous Fall here in Wisconsin. And I just cannot get over all of the color inspiration.
I’ve also been seeing so many owls (and hearing them too). One evening, we had a bonfire in our backyard. And, just as we sat down at dusk, an owl flew up onto a telephone pole above out heads.
The owl has long been a symbol of power, mystery and storytelling for me.
So anytime I see or hear one, I am reminded to tell my unique story… the story that only I can tell.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from my Autumn walks…
I just love taking photo walks because it reminds me to stay in the moment and to really LOOK at my surroundings.
In that way, I remember to slow down. And then I find all sorts of color combinations, patterns and little things that light me up and keep me inspired.
There was even a funny little insect the other day that had the most beautiful gold and copper art deco pattern on its back.
It’s all about staying inspired by the little things. I hope you enjoy a phenomenal weekend!
Ps. There are just a few weeks left to purchase signed copies of my book :: Inspired By The Little Things in my shop.
Pps. If you’re interested in painting owls together (or other whimsical characters), you can watch video previews for all of my online classes like How To Paint An Owl right here.
