in the eyes of forgiveness

Title: In The Eyes of Forgiveness. Prints available in my etsy shop.
Do you ever feel like you create something and it just so perfectly expresses exactly what you feel? That’s how I felt when I finished this painting IN THE EYES OF FORGIVENESS.
She is forgiveness, but also she’s about growth. Her eyes remind me to be a bit easier on myself. To not feel like I need to be perfect and get everything right the first time. The flowers and colors opening up around her also remind me to step forward, take risks and grow.
For this piece, I knew I wanted to paint a girl wearing red tights. I’ve had this thing for red shoes (especially red patent) and red tights ever since I was little. And to me, they’re an expression of my creative self.

I had so much fun with the background too! I dripped down every color of the rainbow and just let it spread. I used to love doing the same thing with water colors, and since I’ve been so inspired by Sabrina Ward Harrison books, my intention with this piece was to just let myself be free!
